The Golden Rule of Texas Campaign Finance
File your Campaign Treasurer Appointment (Form CTA) before you do anything else. You cannot legally accept a contribution or make a campaign expenditure until this form is on file with the Texas Ethics Commission. This is the single most common mistake first-time candidates make.
